View Full Version : Mobs respawn rate

Hi all,

If anyone with more modding skill than me (read: anyone with any skill at all) could point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful.

I just want to set the respawn rate for all areas to be a little slower. I like to methodically clear areas and know that they are going to stay clear for a while. As it is, on occasion if you just pop home and return a couple of seconds later many of the mobs around your portal have respawned. I'd like to be able to set this to an arbitrary value, say, around 20 minutes for example. Can it be done?

I've not tested it though, with any luck the timers aren't hard coded.

You should be able to extract and edit this with notepad yourself, it's not hard to work out, the first one is for MoBs killed by other monsters and NPCs, the second is the player, adjust as required(note that the 480 will be game time, so it's not 480 seconds or anything as easy to work with as that, just experiment)

Yes, seems to work exactly as I had hoped it would!

Thanks again for doing that. It would have taken me hours to find the right values in all those text files!

Is there a way to make them respawn faster then they normally do?

I assume editing my mod and decreasing the number instead of increasing it would work.

Thanks i was just wondering becuase i did make the number lower but it didnt seem to make them respawn any faster.

The mod does work as I predicted, there is another factor in it though, the minimum distance you must be away for them to respawn, normally this means going home.

Then is there a way to reduce the minimum distance?
