Ignore the idea of reskinning the character for the moment, just in a pure stats/techniques discussion, how would the archer balance, what moves would the archer have, what class would they be based off?

And how do you expect to tackle the idea of there not being a single bow in the entire game? What about ammo?

Neither of you is a very good modder by your own admissions, I expect this to be a serious piece of work, the first thing I recomend you do, is to make a plan of what you want out of the class, then decide which class is the best base, because of the the moves available I'd say archers would need to be mages, but if you wanted more of a ranger class the rogue is a better choice.

Once you have a plan you can start asking more exact questions and have a real goal, as it is it doesn't sound like you have any ideas what you want from the class, you just think it would be great to have(which is admirable, I guess).

Well i have been thinking and i have decided that making a bow that is equipable is a better idea.
I am currently trying to steal the animation and image of the skeletan archer, but as u guessed ime not experienced and have failed so far.

:(I think the bone archers model comes with the bow so its impossible, unless you know how to make a bow

ok my first mod so no clue if it works so can u look over it(its called like skeleton arrow atack(or something like it)(under skills for warior)). untested so help159

Having an archer actually have a bow animation would be difficult since that would require modeling in Max unless you want to play as a skeleton. Now if you didn't mind it looking like a cast animation you could use the mage or priest animations.

OK I GOT no moding talent, so that went completely through my head, but playing as a skeleton would be cool...

Hmmm.. You better left that kind of advance modding to advance modders.. It seems that creating that thing can take ages if you have no experience modding.

But might as well root for you, I would love to see archers. :p

In general you just put mods into the Assets directory (which is in the DoP directory wherever you installed it).

This thread may be old but the second I started hearing about all this I immediately started getting Ideas on how to do it. Shouldn't be long before I figure it out :P Although with my current knowledge I'd have to replace a class.
