View Full Version : Concerned about the graphic

As much i enjoy excellent gameplay of Dins Curse , i can not stop from being depressed by its graphic side. Dungeons are empty squares populated only with monsters and loot chests.

When i look at Depths of Peril. You had trees, bushes, grass, rocks, small pieces of ruins ... the world looked alive.

Here you enter into nothing. And as much it does not mater and does not break excellent gameplay. It does break immersion and enjoyment.
Even the wall tiles are same (for dungeon type) :(

Its real downer for me. Looking back to Diablo 1. You had different walls, arcs...tombs, crosses..whatnot. Non gameplay related cosmetic details.

I think that addition of this would go a long way making Dins Curse better game. After all its shame that older game, its predecessor , looks better.

I feel the same way. Din, oddly, has made me want to play Depths. I wish I could play Depths with the new hybrid class system and the gameplay improvements.

There are some nice looking dungeons, with plant stuff even. But often they are not that good looking I agree. But beautiful places in a "hell hole" wouldn't fit.

Overworld areas like DoP would so rock!

I dont think dungeons are so hopeless in regards to visual variety as opposed to overworld areas.

First of all varying textures , both for floor and walls would do the trick.

Varying floor texture as seen in "Fate"

Than you can add bit of variation to walls and doors make few types of them for each dungeon type.

Finally add all kinds of dungeon props: Rubble , pottery , torches, beds, chairs (depending on dungeon theme) ... etc.

Its not hopeless. And i believe it could easily look as varied as overworld.

Also. Some areas all ready look better than others. Caves being the best while area described as temple looks worst ....
