Looking for some smallish games to play,
Ideally it would have RPG, trade, fighting, exploration, 2D, Sci-fi (Or Fantasy)
Games like SPAZ, Drox Operative, FTL, Space Rangers 2 (Fav)
I'm running Win7 64bit
I've just found SR2 that may be win7 compatible so trying that, I loved it for the text portions & the missions on the planets
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated

Have you tried Soldak's other games like Din's Curse or Depths of Peril? Torchlight II is also good if you are looking for an ARPG. If you are looking for something more like FTL (permanent consequences) you might like Dungeons of Dredmor. Space Rangers is really unique so it might be hard to find a game like it.

+1 for Dungeons of Dredmor, that is by far my most played game according to Steam, and can be played in shorter chunks if desired.
In addition to other ARPGs like Torchlight 2 and Din's Curse, Path of Exile just hit open beta, and is quite a lot of fun if you want what feels like a truer sequel to Diablo 2, with some interesting new mechanics. Plus it's free. (= http://www.pathofexile.com/
I don't know that much about it (I've purchased it but not yet played it), but you should check out Starsector (previously Starfarer): http://fractalsoftworks.com/

Starsector (formerly Starfarer)
This is mount&blade in space. It's nowhere near done yet, but the combat system is well-crafted and a joy to play.

Path Of Exile is made by friends of a friend here in New Zealand which is cool, I played a bit when it was in early beta
It was fun, but I prefer sci-fi to fantasy, & Diablo type games I like to play as a pet class :p
I have Depths of Peril, I've tried to play it a few times, but I don't understand the other groups/factions, I'm currently trying to get back into it again.
I always assumed Din's curse was older/inferior version of Depths of Peril, Had a quick look & I think I might try it.
I think Torchlight was better then Torchlight 2 which I just didnt really get into
Starsector looks cool especially
"What is the strategic gameplay like?
You start small, with only one ship. You have a couple of ways to progress – build up your personal ship, expand your fleet, invest in an outpost or two on a resource-rich planet, or any mix of the above. You’ll also want to build up your character in a way that works well with your chosen path."

Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space: http://www.infinitespacegames.com/weirdworlds/ is sort of like FTL and games are pretty short (but FTL is better IMO).
Gimbal is a multiplayer overhead space shooter where you design your own ships: http://www.gimbalgame.com/
Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages is still in development, but looks interesting: http://ringrunner.net/features.html
Path of Exile is cool, it's come a long way from when I got into the Closed Beta (which I only played a little bit of). It's possible to play as a summoner type, there are multiple summon skills.
Depths of Peril was Soldak's first game. The other clans ("covenants") are basically doing the same thing you are -- exploring, completing quests and recruiting. You can ally with them or try to destroy them, then once you've "won" that world you can either continue questing or start another world, carrying over your character, etc. (similar to how it works in Drox). I typically wait for the other clans to start fighting amongst themselves then sweep in and destroy them when they're weakened.
Din's Curse came out about 2.5 years later and refines the formula quite a bit, while removing the clan warfare aspect.

Weird Worlds was fun, But I didn't like the time limit
Cool, I'll try Din's Curse tomorrow
I don't really like Multiplayer
Ring Runner does look interesting

I'll second Starsector. Love how much the game works right now in terms of ships, fleets, upgrades. The problem is that development has been sloooooow. I want more of the game now! lol
But yea, love the style of play so far.

Bit late but you gota try EV: Nova. When I first played Drox it was the first thing it reminded me off.
There's also a MMO called Star Sonata that's pretty good.

Okay, it's not smallish, but have you tried the X trilogy from Egosoft? I absolutely love this series. Great soundtracks, awesome ships, great in-game economics, cool alien races, nice combat.
You have great freedom like in Drox Operative. Earn your money by hunting pirates - or being a pirate. Start as small courier flying from station to station and end up as a tycoon owning a lot of stations. Fight as a lone wolf or build a fleet with huge carriers carrying tons of fighters, escorted by destroyers wielding impressive firepower. Fly all kinds of ships - from freighter to fighter to capital ships. It can be very extensive - but it doesn't have to... it depends on your chosen playstyle. It also has a main storyline but you can do the missions whenever you feel like it.

check out the star wolves series, the games are a bit rough around the edges but once you get past that pretty fun http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wolves

Man if you could combine Gratuitous Space Battles and Drox Operative together...
I prefer the way the ship design and components are handled in GSB, along with the scale and how combat is handled.
Drox is a bit too much on the abstracted side IMO
Or combine Drox with StarSector ship design/combat!
