View Full Version : How do marines work?

I equipped some marines on my current ship but have no idea if when I've triggered their component slot they do anything. I see no indication of which ship they've boarded, if they're still on the ship, or back on mine, etc.

Their value is 0 and their only statistic is "level 7".

Treat them like a weapon that you have to activate or 'fire'. I like to put a marine in the right-click slot. When they are fired, they will attempt to board the enemy ship. If you click on an unsuitable target, there will be an error message in the log. (Say if you click on a monster rather than a ship, or on a ship that has an active shield.)

If the marine is able to board the target, a capital B will appear on the marine's image and you will not be able to use (re-fire) the marine until the target ship is destroyed. There is also a distinct sound that indicates when a marine has boarded. And the marine's image will be displayed as a status effect on the affected ship. (So if you're not sure which ship your marine is on-board, you can check there.)
