View Full Version : 1.018 bugs

- The game has frozen on me for the first time, and then it froze again about 2 hours later. The computer doesn't freeze, just the game. Both times I was in the dungeon, and the second time I paid a little more attention to it: I get the Windows hourglass, the game doesn't respond to any input and is frozen, but the fire crackling sound keeps playing in the background.
- Performance seems slower than before on my super old 'puter. I'd say I'm getting 5 fps less than before ie. 18 in the dungeons instead of 23. (though I'm not sure I had 1.017 installed so it's possible the difference is from that patch).
- Sound of Din's altar healing sometimes works and sometimes (often) cuts out. I might not get the sound at all, I might get a fraction of a second.
- Lightning spell sound sometimes doesn't sound or is quiet. Maybe because there's too many sounds being played during a hectic fight.
- Can still raise demon gates as skeletons.
- If I'm remembering specific chests correctly (and I might not be), traps on chests get reset when you save and quit. That means if you find a chest with a nasty trap you can quit and come back and it may be gone.
- Large creatures such as sapphire vortar guardians make you unable to move where you want to, maybe because of large hitboxes? If I'm around them, sometimes I click but the character won't respond. One time my vortar guardian pet dragged me half across the screen before I was able to choose to go elsewhere.
- This has happened several times already: I have several pets, one of which has very low health. I die and end up in town again. As I'm about to reach for Din's altar to heal my pets, the weakest pet dies. Maybe he has poison status that's not cleared?
- Not exactly a bug: sapphire vortar guardians seem mean but in practice are some of the weakest creatures in my dungeon.

To confirm both the performance issue and the crashing issue, I iterated between 1.017 and 1.018, going back and forth. Initially installing 1.017 on top of 1.018 made the game think I failed the town, but then I created another town and saw the difference.

With 1.018, fps was 5-10 lower on a small dungeon level (~35 fps vs ~45 fps). And 1.018 soon froze. It might have been specifically when I tried casting a lightning spell. The freeze was exactly as I described above.

Yep, I'm also freezing with 1.018. Never froze before.

Got a lock up today too. My character started flickering/spasm type movements while doing the demon hunter ravage attack.

Looks like I'm going to be looking for freezing and slowdown issues today.

2 freezes for me yesterday. Both within seconds of entering a new level with many enemies battling and throwing around effects.

Can anyone post a save game if they are getting freezes close to when the resume a game? That might help me track it down quicker.

I might have tracked down the freezing issue but a problem save game would help verify that they are the same problem.

BTW, the freeze that I found is Lich related, are you guys in areas that have Lichs?

Yep, that looks like the same thing, so I should be putting up a new patch soon.

Another reason to hate those Lichs! ;)

The game froze twice since installing the 1.018 patch.
Both times, Lich-type monsters were present on the current dungeon level.

1.019 is now out, it should fix the lich related freezes.
