We posted our first trailer for Zombasite today over on our Zombasite movie page (http://www.soldak.com/Zombasite/Movies.html). Go take a look now and see what Zombasite looks like and a little bit about what the game is about.

This is the game I have always wanted you guys to make. I feel certain you are going to reach the hardcore Soldak crowd with this. I, for one, am very excited.

The difficulty will lie in reaching everyone else. As I am sure you are aware, the indie scene has changed a ton since you guys released your last game, to say nothing of the massive changes since Depths of Peril was released. As I am sure you are also aware, many doom sayers (Jeff Vogel and others) are predicting an indie apocalypse (i.e. market crash). So many indie games are now available on Steam that the good ones are indistinguishable from the bad ones. Making a great game is no longer enough to warrant success. You can make a great game (as I suspect this one will be) but no one will notice since it's not a sign of quality to get on Steam like it was when you got on several years go.

I also hope you guys will be in touch with big YouTube PC gaming personalities (Total Biscuit and Quill 18, among many others) to see about getting the game featured on their channels. Total Biscuit just made a video about how he selects games for his channel which it might be helpful to watch for getting the game on a wide variety of channels:

This game would be perfect for a series he does called "15 minutes of Game," where he plays various indie titles for 15 minutes.

Lastly, WHEN CAN WE EXPECT BETA?? I am stoked.

We do try to get as many YouTube people to play our games as possible. The last big one we got in touch with wanted us to sign a revenue split agreement. :(

Beta is coming up pretty soon, hopefully within the next couple weeks.

The revenue split agreement thing is absurd. Don't fall for that (as I'm sure you won't). Check out some of the "15 Minutes of Game" episodes I was telling you about, and try to pitch yourself for that format. Another good thing would be to have people interested in Soldak games suggest which YouTubers they frequently watch.

If anyone reading this post has any suggestions for Youtubers Soldak should contact, leave their names in this thread!

I posted a let's play of Drox Operative. I plan to post a let's play of Zombasite. But I can't. Because it's not out yet. And I have a competitive genetic advantage. I can scream like a girl and mean it. ;)

By the way, the most "revenue share" most youtubers should expect is a free review copy of the game. If someone comes to you and drives the type of traffic that deserves an affiliate cut, it shouldn't be 50%.
