Patch 0.931 of Zombasite is available over on the Zombasite patch page (http://www.soldak.com/Zombasite/Patches.html). Changes can be read here (http://www.soldak.com/Zombasite/Patches/Changes.html). This patch optimizes things much better, adds new renegade types (Inquisitor, Blackguard, Nightblade, etc), adds losing your healthstone as a lose condition (test), and fixes a bunch of other minor issues.

I'm in a game with only me and a much stronger clan left. He's at war with me. He raids. I get out of town to avoid losing my entire clan. He destroys my healthstone and I get a diplomatic victory with a bunch of crafting parts . Now the lose timer starts. I use some of the time to clean up and clear inventory. The clan that raided me is nowhere in sight, and the clan screen indicates that I've been eliminated by monsters. I have the game saved at this point if needed.

Apparently I need to update the win conditions to make sure the player clan is still alive. :)

My Nemesis has created literally more than a hundred instances of the "Blue Screes Uprising (That one guy) quest. I am looking forward to the about 200,000 experience I'll get from the quest once I make it to that area.

On a similar note, many of those screes are becoming named enemies... I have a total 277 quests. Not bad for a tiny area at normal pace.

I get this kind of thing frequently. It is really bad when it is attacks on your town instead of an uprising - makes it quite hard to find time to actually get to the Nemesis.

The balance needs tweaking.

That area ended up crashing, and the save is corrupted. Kind of sad, really, as I went from level 16 to level 27 in it, because of all the quests. But by the time it crashed, there were 500+ quests in that area (probably 512) and I was barely nibbling at its edges, because of all the boss monsters.

------------------------

When I abandoned the area (as reloading it crashed my game) I started with six out of eight guards dead, and the other two at death's doorstep. Strangely enough, they were all very high level, 60 in one case. Considering that the character level was 27, something weird was going on.

When an enemy attacks a player with Fire Shield, the damage suffered by the enemy is displayed in red, i.e. as if it was the player suffering it. It gave me quite the scare, having paused the game with a fat 32324 (Critical Hit) hanging over my hardcore character.

I'm currently doing R&R on a bunch of clannies to get insanity down, but its causing my dialog box to fill with notifications of the NPCs becoming and unbecoming Clan Luminaries.

Performance appears to be much improved for me -- the game is finally playable on my 2011 MBP.

I have an NPC clan with a wandering zombie naga priest that does not exist on the map anywhere. I have searched extensively.

I have just kicked an NPC from my clan (I should have got more information before I did) who was getting more and more unhappy. They had full rations, entertainers, and a 3rd positive happiness modifier. Their relations were all 50 or better, and they had no unusual personality traits. I went and checked the NPC and there were none of the usual negative interactions that can cause negative happiness (insulted etc).

I am level 12, all my NPCs are level 6-12, except one NPC that is level 16. I'm pretty sure posession and immolation are giving him XP even when he casts them in town.

In the past I mentioned that certain generated worlds wouldn't have merchants, and I finally figured it out! Games played on slow or very slow pacing don't spawn merchants at all..

Finally got some decent multiplayer going, but when one of us was getting attacked by an AI clan, only the player who owns that town was able to attack the intruders. Is this intentional? (same thing when one of us raids a clan, but I could understand that limitation for balance reasons) Or maybe it's another glitch that slow pacing also causes, cause that's what we were playing on.

(by the way, in both raiding and defending instances, we both were properly noted as "at war" with that enemy clan)

Enjoying the game, but I found a few minor issues.

One area had a dungeon entrance inside a house. Looked odd, but it worked.

On the skill point allocation screen it says
skill points le:ft

Still have the X is now a luminary, X is no longer a luminary spam.

My clan has exactly two members, of the same gender as the player character, and heterosexual. How can they both possibly be losing happiness because of jealousy?

Seems fine to me, jealousy doesn't have to be sexual.

I have heard of instances where colleagues both ended up in formal processes because 1 thought the other was getting all the good work, and the other thought the first was lazy. In a close environment where you don't interact with other people that sort of thing can get way out of hand.

Given that they are both sitting at home, on Rest and Recreation, it's still a stretch. I decided to get the 'Rogue to 25' achievement, and am playing a non loner for the first time in a while. I have to say, I'm either having the worst luck with clan members, or it has become really hard to keep them happy.

Yes I am having major problems with happiness.

I had a clan with ~12 luminaries all with very close to 200 happiness. In less than half an hour of playing the clan for the first time this patch, they are all below 150 and 4 of them are below 100.

My other character I was playing was shedding characters left and right because their happiness kept falling no matter what I did.

I'm actually not going to play my main character while the happiness is this way - I have no doubt I will end up with a raft of highly unhappy clan members, despite having cultivated them for many hours.

Time to try a loner character.

By the way, I am so tired of 'wizards', 'rangers', etc... without ONE SINGLE class skill. I started keeping track after realizing that all four of my clan members were of that kind. Of the six recruits I have seen since, there was one commoner, one warrior with devastating blow, which, because of the way mana works for clan members is more or less useless, and FOUR classed recruits with no class skills.

Have a check on recruit generation, and if they fail to roll any class skills, add a default one:
- Warrior - shield mastery
- Rogue - caltrops
- Ranger - net trap
- Demon hunter - breach
- Priest - bravery
- Wizard - fiery blast
- Conjurer - raise skeleton
- Dark knight - aura of despair

I tried to choose the skills above so that they are not too powerful, but also not useless. If you think that there is a better criteria, please choose another set, but it is damn annoying to see all 'specialists' with absolutely no skills, doubly so when they are forcibly inserted in our clans (rewards, quests, etc...)

Speaking of which, would it be possible to have some 'custom' recruits, which would show up once in a blue moon, but have a really, really good selection of skills?

For example a Death knight with "Sword mastery", "Two handed mastery", "Unholy Vitality" and "Blade of Darkness".... OK, that may be the reward for a level 100 military win where you got all eight genocides, but i think it would be great if 'hard' wins (diplomacy/adventuring with eight surviving clans, as another example) would reward the player with truly great recruits.

And given that am on a rant roll.

Bottomless dungeons. My character is on the 5th level of a Bottomless dungeon under the very first area - the one adjacent to the clan seat. I generated the area at level 4 for a brand new character. There are 12 quests underneath my level, and at least three of them need to be taken care of.

What's the problem? My character is level 10, some of the monsters are level 3.8, killing them brings about 10 experience, and the quests bring less than 100. Basically, I have to go down quite a few more levels, fighting trash monsters, for no experience, so that I can solve a crushingly important quest... which will bring no rewards.

The last patch did make it much harder to get happiness higher, but it is tiered. Below 50 happiness is exactly like it used to be. Above 50, 100, and 150 it gets harder and harder to get higher happiness.

I'll visit my level 100 characters, and see how I feel about their followers' happiness. Those are clans that were absolutely fine tuned for maximum happiness - almost everyone is married, there are no personality conflicts, etc...

In one of those clans, more than half of the recruits were happy enough to be always working hard.

I am ready to believe you that happiness works the same in the -100 to 50 interval, but I see devastating effects of "jealousy". One single character seems to be single-handedly ruining the whole clan. It's one thing that being jealous is simply making a character unviable, but are you sure that the people who are the target of jealousy should be suffering such negative effects? I am waiting to see what trait is causing it - otherwise I would have kicked his ass out long ago.

By the way, I do not like the way that some traits make character not even worth considering. I am really protective of characters with the "Holy Trifecta buffs" (Hardiness, Fire Shield, and Bravery) but I just kicked one out of the clan, because she had not one, but two of the 'Deadly Traits'.
