Hi to everyone!)First I want to give a big THANK YOU to soldak for this amazing game!
Today I tried to create some models for the game and had some problems.
Every time I use SkelConvert i get "Invalid model file".(I created model with 3dmax 9 export it with skl export).Can someone pls show me example of how to use skelconvert (bat. or command line)
And Is it possible to make weapon models?If so Should every model be with animation or just a mesh?
Sorry for bad English I'm from Ukraine:)

There could be a couple issues.

The first is that the converter is kind of dumb about the extension. It automatically tacks .skl on to the name provided so if you already included it it's not going to find the file correctly. You just want something like this:
skelConvert bigGuy

The other possible issue is make sure you are using our max exporter. If you use our exporter the first line of the skl file will start with:
ExportedSkelAnim Ver 1

Another problem came up.How to assign tags(top,bottom) to the model.And how to make it fit right to the hand?At this point my sword is flying near my character not in his hands.

Well you need to have a tags line in the mdl file and actually have a tags file (can be empty). Then you can go into the model editor and setup/modifiy tags.

Open the console with the ~ key. Type in developer 1 in the console. Then you will see the model editor button on the main menu.

Its a shame that you cant make armor models.(or I don't see how)

You can model the helmets. You can also make different skins for all of the armor types. While a skin won't change the shape, it will definitely change the character's look.

I don't know if it's possible, but I think it would be cool to have flowing robes for the mages.

If somebody wanted to try. :)

I'm thinking about it.But little problem I can't think of names for this weapons)))And for mod I'll need to make more.So If you want to see your favorite weapons(from anime,cartoons,movies,real life)send me a pic and ill make it.
