Blizzard took careful aim at its foot today and blasted away repeatedly (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/08/01/diablo-iii-no-mods-online-only-cash-trades/).

It's like they're trying to drive their sheep, er, customers away. Good news for indies, I guess.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled brazen daytime spamming, already in progress.

What do you expect from a company that is part of Activision? :)

Like Shadow said, not surprising coming from Craptivision.

Thing is, I refuse to buy any games that require an internet connection to be played (i.e. no offline single player). Diablo series are not MMOs, well... at least I didn't THINK they were.

Idiots.

That right there is why I won't be purchasing Diablo 3.

Seems like really good news for Runic and Torchlight II.

What's sad is, millions of people are still going to queue up on day 1 to buy it, oblivious to the mocking laughter of Actiblizz

Blizzard had a good thing going with d2-the only problem is the games not only never end, but take forever to get your character to that perfect level. Everything revolves around getting the right items and without the right items your character is crap. Youve got to trade (another really big pain) with other people to get the right items and once that happens, your already a higher level, and back in the same boat to get higher items.

Dins at least sets things different. One game where having good items doesnt mean that your invincible. The super boss will still stomp you into the ground regardless.
