View Full Version : Anyone using special modules - if so which ones?

At the moment I find myself always running out of slots. So I simply up to now discovered no module with a "skill" that I feel I can justify a slot for. (2 chars Level 13, 2 chars Level 10)
How does this work out for you so far? Which modules with "skills" on it do you use?

Emergency Energy is actually pretty solid, with energy costs the way they are.

One of the things keeping me from using a lot of the special modules is that it's not at all clear what they do.
A little explanation text would go a long way toward explaining why I'd want to buy a Smoke Screen in the first place.
I know what it does now, but only because I Smoke Screened a planet and then checked the status effects.

So what does it do? Don't leave us hanging like that...

Oh, it creates a smoke cloud about the size of a large planet. Everything within the cloud gets a huge penalty to attack and defense.
Not useful for my setup, as it turned out, and this one was a huge power load hog.
Energy and shield regeneration supports seem worthwhile, and the emergency thrust thing could be useful with some builds.
