View Full Version : Thrust acceleration outposts

Hi,
I was thinking about ways to make exploration more interesting. One thing I came up with was having little outposts that you could fly through and they would launch you in a set direction. Maybe it would double your thrust for a short time period.

These could be placed strategically between the starlanes and other objects of interest.

That way when you enter a new area, you have some indication of where to go.

This would in effect make space freeways, that could be more heavily occupied by monsters, pirates and NPCs.

Maybe these outposts were left behind by the drox, or maybe they are created by the NPC races while they are settling.

So, it wouldn't be as interesting as exploring a new area like in Din's Curse, but it would at least make a density rich area for various factions to fight over.

Also, clearing these lanes of monsters would help the NPC races, so its another way you can contribute to the end goal.

This could also make it possible to make larger solar systems as well, id like to see planets make these and the player have to supply constructions items from mining or industrial planets ( expanding trade goods part of game) u supply the goods the planets build em and then u can use em ties in with planet development and assisting planets as well
