I have encountered quite a few times in .902 where planets were possibly "destroyed" but in actuality still exist. That or they were just bugged from the get go. This is a new sector created in .902 using the new "Established" setting. My ship is a carry over from earlier patches though.

I will be sending two different save files. In one of them, a friendly Brunt planet, I am unable to interact with it to talk/trade/etc. It is named and has friendly ships nearby, but it does not have a health bar.

In the other I am right near a human planet. I am at war with the humans and killed the lone escort guarding it. I can shoot at the planet without issue, but it has no visible health bar and can not be destroyed.

I have not encountered this prior to .902 myself.

EDIT: The more I fly around the more rampant I am seeing this behavior. Both friendly and enemy planets exist but have no health bar or other info. I do not seem to be able to destroy them or trade with them.

Are you starting the sectors more settled with the new options?

Yes, this was a new sector created with the "established" setting, the most established settlement option there was. In nearly every system I am encountering some of these planets, and I am unable to eradicate the humans from one system because of it.

I emailed the character and save data to you a short bit ago as well. Thank you for checking into this.

P.S. loving the new options aside from that. Tons to do with my now level 15 ship.

Ok, another question, are you broken planets always gas planets?

I am still testing, but so far yes, it does seem to always be gas planets.

EDIT: Located 5 or 6 of these issues with planets, regardless of allegiance. All thus far have been some form of gas giant.

Ok, if it's always limited to gas giants then I have found a fix already.

Oh that's great news. Will the fix an already existing sector, or will it require a new one be created?

In this case, it will require a new sector.

I've encountered a planet with a thriving Hive colony (it was the first contact), but the Relations screen told me the Hive had been eliminated. The colony was not on a gas giant.
The Hive went on and colonized a few other planets, but I couldn't talk to any of them. Could this be related to the bug?

I'll let Shadow answer that one, but I can confirm the races I encountered were still active in the game. I suspect this is a different sort of bug and I think I've seen some others mention it. If you have a save showing the situation, I'd email it to him if you haven't yet.

I would guess that this is a symptom of the same bug.
