The energy changes in 902 are very welcome and have made a huge positive impact. It is now possible to sustain a long conflict with continuous fire (of one weapon) as long as all your Light Component slots are dedicated to battery rechargers.

This resurrects the issue we were discussing in 901, though: we should not have to trade off being able to efficiently fire one weapon and being able to equip crew members. Truly, crew members need to have their own slots, or at the very least, have crew bays which can contain at least 2-3 crew members per slot, such that we have enough room for other items, such as battery rechargers.

(BTW, I'm still of the opinion that there are far too few slots in general, meaning that our ships really don't have the versatility they should in terms of design - most equipment slots are currently invested in keeping the ship alive, powered up and able to fire)
