As a fan and customer of Soldak, I would like to bring to your attention a new game called Stash, currently on Kickstarter, being developed by Frogdice. The company has been running a a successful MUD since 1996, so they have learned a lot about what does and does not work in an online multiplayer game. Their aim is to apply this expertise to develop a game that "re-imagines the MMO genre". Features include turn based combat, no bind-on-pickup items, no level cap, no quest grinding, customizable housing, crafting, and more. Looks like it's gonna be a close one. I'm not an MMO guy typically, but these devs are great and I've already upped my pledge. The strategic turn-based combat and "no endless fetch quests" aspects really drew me in, and they have a great track record of building and retaining a great community.
