![]() Hi,
A returning player here. I tried searching, but could find the answer; The loot that I leave behind (that is inevitable at low levels until I find a few cargobays) disappears fairly quickly. Does it happen when I leave a sector? Or can it happen if I get too far away from them? Has it always been like this? It is really annoying, and I can't remember it being an issue on my last play trough... |

![]() Well, you cannot return to a sector, so it definitely is gone if you leave.
I do not think loot disappears until you leave the system, because I have done multiple runs to retrieve hundreds of components, and did not notice anything disappearing. Loot can definitely disappear when you leave the system, and it seems that the rarest it is, the later it disappears. Which is nice. My guess would be that there is an upper limit on how many components can be floating in space, and when that limit is reached, the game gets rid of some of them. In the perfect world, it would start with the least rare items in the system that was visited the longest time ago. I do not know that it is the case, but I hope it is.

![]() A shot in the dark, but do you have the "Hide Crappy Loot" option turned on? I'm guessing that as you level up and install new components, things that weren't "crappy" before would be "crappy" now, and therefore be hidden.

![]() Loot eventually seems to decay if ignored long enough, except surplus quest items, which hang there forever.

![]() Sorry, mixed the Sector and System terms.
But yea, getting a bit more (re)experienced now loot defiantly doesn't disappears just from leaving a system, but it does disappear after some time. As this happened on very low levels, perhaps it is, as mentioned, that the item decay is linked to the value? |
