Smile Depths of Peril vs Din's Curse! (Questions)

I recently bought Din's Curse and the expansion. Absolutely love it! I tried the demo for Drox Operative and Depths of Peril. I think all of the games by Soldak are very creative.

I'm trying to get a good idea of the differences between Depths of Peril and Din's Curse.

Depths of Peril seemed a lot slower than Din's Curse (combat). And it seemed like DoP has an open world instead of dungeons, is that correct? And instead of saving a town like in DC, you kind of compete against NPC tribes to be the best at PvE?

Din's curse seems to focus on dungeon crawling and tons of loot, does Depths of Peril have as much loot? (DC has like 8 different rarities of items, its so awesome)

If anyone wants to sum up what the main differences are between DoP and DC, I would appreciate it. Din's Curse demo was an instant sell for me, but DoP and Drox, I might hold off, not sure they are my thing yet. (I will admit, I didn't give the demos much time for both DoP and Drox.) Thanks for any information.

The main differences between the two games is that in DoP you are out adventuring in the world for the sake of growing more powerful so that you can be victorious over the other covenants in town, or at least ally with them. What DoP has that DC doesn't is a clan vs clan mechanic and a diplomacy mechanic. Instead of being a lone adventurer, you are a member of a clan with a base and you are trying to make that base strong so that it doesn't fall to other clans in the town.

The combat is a bit more clunky in DoP, but in general the game is a bit deeper. There is still a lot of loot, and there is more to do with the loot because you can equip your AI controlled clan members. There are fewer classes in DoP, but you can do interesting things like buy monsters to guard your house and trade with other clans. In sum, DoP has a bit of a strategy game injected into it, whereas DC is a pure dungeon crawler. DoP also has an open world with occasional dungeons.

I hope there next game is a mix of both Din's Curse and Depth's of Peril. I like the feel of Din's Curse over Depths of Peril. I can get over the graphics but the lack of fluidity of combat in DoP is a bit much for me.

Din's Curse has me addicted! I'm gonna give Drox Operative another shot as well. Drox Operative didn't hold me to long because the loot was a lot different than a traditional ARPG. It's like you get a missile launcher attachment as loot instead of a piece of plate armor with stats. A lot to get used to... Although I did play a lot of Subspace back in the day.

Our next game really is a mix of Depths of Peril, Din's Curse, and Drox Operative.
